Assalamu Alaikum Quran.com team,
First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for your wonderful work in making the Holy Quran accessible to millions of people around the world. May Allah reward you abundantly for your efforts, bless your work, and make it a source of continuous reward for everyone involved in developing and maintaining this valuable platform.
I have been using Quran.com for several years, and it has become an important part of my daily Quran reading. I have read, memorized, and completed the Quran through your website, and I truly appreciate the excellent experience it provides.
However, I would like to share some suggestions that I believe could significantly improve the official Quran.com iOS app and create a consistent, seamless experience between the website and the mobile app.
  1. Bring the website’s excellent reading experience to the iOS app
The Quran.com website offers an outstanding Quran reading experience. The Arabic font is beautiful, clear, and high quality. The Tajweed presentation is excellent, the ability to zoom in on individual verses is very useful, and the page-by-page reading experience is comfortable, organized, and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, in my experience, the official iOS app does not provide the same level of text quality, visual presentation, and reading comfort as the website. When zooming in, the Arabic text does not appear as clear and refined, the overall graphics and interface feel less polished, and navigating the reading experience can sometimes be confusing.
I would love to see the same high-quality Arabic text, beautiful font rendering, Tajweed colours, verse zoom functionality, page layouts, and overall visual quality of the website brought into the official iOS app.
Please consider redesigning and improving the iOS app so that reading the Quran on an iPhone or iPad feels as close as possible to reading on the website, with the same clarity, simplicity, quality, and comfort.
  1. Introduce a complete user account system in the iOS app
One of my biggest concerns is that my Quran.com website account contains several years of reading history, memorization progress, completed Quran readings, and other personal progress, but this information is not available to me in the iOS app.
Please introduce a complete account system in the official iOS app that allows users to sign in with their existing Quran.com accounts and access their saved information and progress.
My existing website account should remain my main account, with my reading history, memorization progress, completed readings, bookmarks, and other supported data synchronized between the website and the iOS app.
I do not want to start again from the beginning or lose the progress I have built over several years simply because I switch from the website to the iOS app.
  1. Bring the website’s streak system to the iOS app
The streak feature on the website is an excellent way to encourage consistency in daily Quran reading. I particularly appreciate its design, calendar, and the way it displays daily progress.
Please bring the same streak system, calendar, progress tracking, and visual design into the official iOS app so that users can enjoy the same experience on both platforms.
It would also be extremely helpful to introduce offline reading synchronization. If a user reads the Quran while travelling somewhere without an internet connection, the iOS app should securely save the reading activity on the device and synchronize it with the user’s account once the connection returns. Where technically possible, the streak should then reflect the actual days on which the user read the Quran.
  1. Introduce iPhone Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
I would also like to suggest adding beautiful, useful, and interactive widgets for the iPhone Home Screen and Lock Screen.
Widgets are an important part of the iOS experience. They allow users to see useful information without opening an app, make an application more visible in their daily lives, and encourage people to interact with it more frequently.
Many popular social media applications use widgets to maintain visibility and engagement with their users. I believe Quran.com could benefit greatly from a similar approach, adapted to the purpose of Quran reading and reflection.
For example, the Quran.com iOS app could offer widgets that display:
* A daily Quranic verse, with its Arabic text and translation
* A weekly Quranic verse, similar to the Verse of the Day and Verse of the Week features available on the website
* The user’s current reading streak and daily reading progress
* A quick way to open the Quran and continue reading from the last saved position
In particular, I would love to see the Verse of the Day and Verse of the Week features available directly on the iPhone Home Screen and Lock Screen.
The website already provides daily and weekly verse features, but I have not found the same experience in the iOS app. Bringing these features into widgets would allow users to see, reflect on, and remember Quranic verses throughout the day without needing to open the app every time.
These widgets could also help introduce more people to Quran.com, strengthen daily engagement, and encourage users to build a consistent relationship with the Quran.
  1. Bring all website features to the iOS app in an organized way
My broader suggestion is to bring all the important features available on the Quran.com website into the official iOS app, wherever technically appropriate.
Rather than offering a significantly different or more limited experience on mobile, please consider organizing the app so that users can easily access the same core features they already enjoy on the website.
This includes high-quality Quran reading, Tajweed, clear Arabic fonts, zoom functionality, page-by-page reading, translations, tafsir, daily and weekly verses, user accounts, bookmarks, reading history, memorization progress, streaks, and other useful features available on the website.
I understand that a mobile app requires its own interface and design. My suggestion is not necessarily to copy every screen exactly, but to preserve the same quality, functionality, and simplicity while adapting everything properly to the iPhone and iPad experience.
  1. Make the website and iOS app one unified experience
I believe the best solution would be to develop the Quran.com website and official iOS app as two fully connected parts of the same platform.
Users should be able to sign in with one account, access their existing progress, enjoy the same high-quality Quran text and Tajweed presentation, maintain their streaks, and continue reading seamlessly across the website and their Apple devices.
I currently use both the website and the iOS app, but I find reading on the website much more comfortable and enjoyable. The website feels clear, polished, and easy to follow, while the app can feel less intuitive and sometimes confusing.
I have chosen Quran.com because I genuinely appreciate the quality of your website and have already invested years of reading and memorization progress into this platform. I believe many other users have developed the same attachment to your platform.
When users have built a long-term Quran reading habit on your website, they should be able to continue that experience on the iOS app without feeling that they are moving to a different or less complete product.
  1. Preserve and synchronize users’ existing progress
Please ensure that users can access their existing Quran.com accounts and previously saved progress in the iOS app without having to create a new account or manually rebuild their reading history.
For users like me, who have spent several years reading, memorizing, and completing the Quran through the website, being able to continue from exactly where they left off is extremely important.
A unified account and synchronization system would make the transition between the website and the iOS app simple, convenient, and reliable.
Thank you once again for your outstanding service and dedication to making the Holy Quran accessible to everyone. May Allah reward your entire team abundantly, bless your work, and make every Quranic reading, memorization effort, and benefit gained through your platform a source of ongoing reward for all those who contribute to it.
I sincerely hope you will consider these suggestions and continue improving the Quran.com website and, particularly, the official iOS app for iPhone and iPad users.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan.
Kind regards,
A grateful Quran.com user
